A block with a few holes makes an acceptable tap guide but this one has
a few extra features that I like.  The receiver for the tap wrench can
be adjusted up and down to accommodate taps of various lengths.  The
"windows" in the side allow one to clean the tap and apply fluid without
moving the tap guide.  Finally, the V-grooves in the bottom permit using
the tool on cylindrical work.
